My independence and freedom
The people I have met here that I hope I will keep in touch with and hopefully cross paths x
East End - Shoreditch, Brick Lane, Viet restaurants on Kingsland Road, Hackney, Redchurch St, Albion, the kooky and crazy eclectic fashion (pretentious as it might be at times!)
My room in Manor House which I have lived in for nearly 12 months. Cosy, comfortable and all mine!
Being so close to Europe and the rest of the world. Sorry, but Oz is beautiful and all but so geographically isolated!
Culture/arts/fashion scene - you can't escape it!
Having access to Zara, Topshop, COS and high street brands at awesome prices. Shopping in Oz is getting too exxy.
Seasonal sales at Selfridges/Harvey Nichols
My council gym - the classes are great, the instructors give you really challenging workouts and it's improved my fitness immensely!
Cheap groceries across the road from my flat. One of the wonders of living on Green Lanes
The fact that there is always something to do in London. I could never get bored in this city!
The bus system - fast, efficient and gets me from A to B. And it's cheaper than the Tube.
World class music festivals, concerts and gigs
Cheap clothes at PRIMARK
Versus...what I will not miss:
How expensive everything is here. I haven't even saved a penny since I arrived last June! It's all gone to travelling, rent and the odd piece of clothing.
Rude, aggressive people
The weather - shit shit shit...Summer doesn't exist here and anything over 24 degrees is considered a heatwave. On the bright side the Londoners flock to the nearest park in their togs and sunbathe when it is. And they have smiles on their faces! Wow!
Queueing everywhere. Over it!
The fact I cannot get RUSSH magazine at Borders.
The Heathrow Injection i.e. piling on unwanted pounds and then having your family members comment on the size of your hips/thighs/butt
The N29 bus coming home from the city - it's dirty, full of drunk people and it's always crowded.
Some of the 'friends' that I have lost as a result of miscommunication/misconstrued situations. If you can't forgive and talk it out then you weren't a friend in the first place.
